Our first Manchester event had a little bit of a different vibe to what we had done in Leeds the previous month. Instead of an amphitheatre on the top floor of state of the art office building we were in an intimate function room upstairs at the Lock-91 pub in the Castlefield part of Manchester. Just a stones throw from the Deansgate train station, the ambience included the occasional rumblings of a train overhead.
It was in many ways an ideal place to bring together experimentation & CRO practitioners from many of the leading companies in the city including Dunelm Mill, AutoTrader, Disney and the BBC.
The evening kicked off with a fun game of Family From-Tunes as Alun Lucas of Zuko Analytics talked us through the importance of form optimisation on a website. Highlighting potential friction points and revealing startling revelations in terms of industry reported drop out rates. All wrapped up amidst a parody of the popular TV quiz show.
Few know more around the topic and Zuko Analytics remains one of the most reliable tools in terms of form optimisation, winning the CRO Analytics Tool of the Year at the 2024 Experimentation Elite Awards. For more information see: https://www.zuko.io/
He was followed by Mike Tyson wannabe Amrdeep Athwal, former speaker at events such as Measurecamp, Experimentation Elite and Conversion Hotel. He used White Collar Boxing as his inspiration for calling out some of the traits required for successfully implementing an experimentation programme.
